she/they

Born and raised on the east coast, Kelly made her way to Tucson in 2017 after spending much of her life in small Pennsylvania towns and cities.

As a kid, Kelly was pretty sure she was the strangest person she’d ever met. Itching to get out of her small town, Kelly found solace in writing and imagining a world wildly different from what she knew. Music, mentors, books, and learning gave Kelly an opportunity to start to make sense of the world in beautiful and healing ways. Community, curiosity, un/learning, creating, movement work, traveling, and rest became the sweetest medicine—ingredients to the salve that would get Kelly through some of her toughest years— and that still nourishes and sustains her to date.

Kelly moved west after leaving a job she loved and was burnt out from. Dreaming of warmer days, gnarly desert trails, and greater balance, she moved into a charming old bungalow in one of her favorite Tucson neighborhoods, and has been blissed out by the desert ever since.

Kelly is an educator, community organizer, storyteller, licensed therapist, and an absolute believer in a more beautiful world. Kelly has an integrative psychotherapy and consulting practice in Tucson, grounded in intersectionality, liberation, and compassion. Kelly founded Soulshine in 2018 as a community-led organization committed to creating supportive spaces for healing and social change.

Favorite way to practice rest & relaxation:  I love a good deep tissue massage & craniosacral work. I also hermit hard.

Favorite food: Dark chocolate

Something that keeps me inspired: My job keeps me talking and learning with wise, funny, and beautiful humans every day.

Favorite thing to do when feeling in a funk: I crack bad jokes, dance, feel the feelings & keep moving.

A not well-known fact about me: I had a plant-based bakery side-hustle for several years.

A favorite place to travel to: Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica
